Our Adirondack Chalet is ideally located seconds away from the entarnce to Gore Mountain. GORE MOUNTAIN IN THE ADIRONDACKS VALUED #1 IN SKI MAGAZINE FOR OVERALL VALUE Skiing has been a big part of the Adirondack winter scene ever since the 1930's, when "ski trains" brought hundreds of enthusiasts from New York to the North Creek Ski Bowl. In those days, skiers were just hopping to escape the "Great White Way" for a great white way down. Today, besides downhill skiing, the Adirondack winter offers, snowboarding and snow tubing. The downhill ski and snowboard centers of the Adirondacks will give you all the speed, thrills, bumps and cruising you can handle. Unless otherwise noted, all downhill ski areas offer food service and have available rental equipment such as skis, poles, boots and snowboards. All downhill ski centers also are open to snowboarders and offer lessons. |

Spring |
Spring events usually begin in May or even late April in the Adirondacks. A favorite activity is to hike to foot of nearby Mt. Crane and take pictures of the masses of snow thawing in the warm Spring air. Others prefer to to participate in the annual Whitewater Derby in Lake George. You don't have to be an expert to participate in the "Crazy Canoe Race" but you will probably want to be in good shape to try the "40 Mile Paddle". It's fun to just watch also. There's also a street fair with games and rides along Main Street and the Derby Music Festival at Ski Bowl Park. |
